Cubixy Privacy Policy
Cubixy is a puzzle cube app for scanning, solving, learning and timing. It is built to work entirely on your device. Cubixy does not collect, store on any server, sell or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads and no analytics.
Camera
Cubixy asks for camera access only so it can read the sticker colors of your cube while you scan it. The camera image is processed in real time on your device. Cubixy does not save images or video, and never uploads them. You can deny camera access and enter the colors by hand instead.
Data stored on your device
Cubixy saves the following data locally, in the app's private storage on your phone:
- Timer solve times, penalties and scrambles
- Daily challenge results and streaks
- Your progress in the guides
- The cube you last entered or scanned
- App settings, such as your chosen language
This data never leaves your device and we cannot access it. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in your phone's settings deletes all of it. Depending on your device settings, Android's own backup may include app data. That backup is managed by Google under your Google account, not by us.
Network use
All features, including the solver, scrambles and the daily challenge, work offline. The only time Cubixy connects to the internet is to check for and download app updates through Expo's update service (EAS Update). These requests contain technical details needed to deliver the right update, such as the app version, platform and update identifiers. Like any web server, the service may receive your IP address. It does not receive anything you have entered in the app. See Expo's privacy policy.
Third-party services
- Google Play distributes the app. Google may collect data such as installs and crash reports under Google's privacy policy.
- Expo (EAS Update) delivers app updates, as described above.
Cubixy contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs.
Children
Cubixy is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
